Types of Address Change
The complexity and time taken for a change in registered office depend entirely on the distance of the move, which dictates the governmental authority involved (ROC, RD, or NCLT).
Form INC-22 must be filed with the ROC within 30 days of the Board Resolution for the change. Failure to file incurs a daily penalty of ₹100.

What is the deadline for filing the change?
Form INC-22 must be filed with the ROC within 30 days of the date of passing the Board Resolution for the change. Late filing attracts a penalty of ₹100 per day.
Can I change the state of the company?
Yes, but this is the most complex change. It requires a Special Resolution and approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), followed by filing with the ROCs of both states.
Can I use a rented apartment address?
Yes, provided you have a valid Rent Agreement in the name of the company and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the landlord, along with a recent utility bill.
